Dan and Casey are at the anchor desk during a commercial break.

Dan: And you know where we are going?

Casey: I'm sure you're going to tell me again.

Dan: Van de Weghe to see Any Warhol's exhibit.

Casey: Guns.

Dan: The name of the exhibit is "Guns."

Casey: How appropriate since I could use one right now.

Dan: And then we'll walk a block over and eat at Cello.

Casey: Is she allergic to seafood?

Dan: I... I don't know.

Casey: What's her name?

Dan: Anie, with one 'n.'

Casey: i-e?

Dan: a-n-i-e.

Casey: I had to make sure it wasn't Annie with a y.

Dan: Then that would spell...

Casey: Any.

Dan: Yeah.

Casey: What's her last name?

Dan: I'm working on it.

Casey: This revenge dating is going really well.

Dan: What revenge dating?

Casey: Come on. This is a revenge date to get back at Jo for dating other people.

Dan: She's allowed to date, I'm allowed to date. We're both taking advantage of the rules of our relationship.

Casey: It sounds like a revenge date to me.

Dan: It's not something to get even with Jo.

Casey: You don't even know her full name! And her first name is missing a letter, too!

Dan brushes Casey aside.

Dan: Details, details. Casey, you know what you are?

Casey: What?

Dan: A stick-in-the-mud.

Casey: A stick-in-the-mud?

Dan: Yeah, you should have ignored the new policy and continued to see Dana.

Casey: She has a lot on her plate right now. And by the way, you're miked.

Dan: Yeah, Sam knows how I feel.

Dave: (over intercom) Back in 5, 4, 3, 2...

Casey: (on-air) We're back, and as we promised you earlier in the broadcast, we have baseball predictions.

Dan: (on-air) I'm feeling pretty good about my choices this year, Casey.

Casey: (on-air) But as you recall, I correctly predicted the Yankees and Mets last year, thank you very much.

Dan: (on-air) I guess I'll go first since the pressure to repeat is on your shoulder's Casey. In the National League, I like Braves, Reds, and Giants, with the Braves coming away with the National League pennant once again. Over in the American League, I see the Yankees, Indians, and Rangers winning their divisions, with the Rangers earning the right to face the Braves in the Fall Classic.

Casey: (on-air) As for my picks, I like the Yankees, White Sox, and Athletics in the American League. Plus, you cannot stop the dynasty in New York. The Bronx Bombers will take it once again. Over in the National League, the Mets, Cardinals, and Giants all will repeat as division champs, but the Gateway City, Mark McGwire, and company will make it to the World Series this year. For those of you keeping score, check back with us every night during the season to see if we are correct.

Dan: (on-air) Or you could check back with us in October, but that would mean watching something other than "Sports Night." Just a reminder for everyone, we will not be on tomorrow night as CSC brings you a hockey double-header featuring the Blues at the Red Wings followed by the Stars and Canucks from Vancouver. For Casey McCall, I'm Dan Rydell. Goodnight.

Dave: We're out.

Chris: Music's up.

Will: Credits rolling.

Dana: Great show everybody.

Sam walks into the control room.

Sam: I just wanted to thank everybody for their effort this evening. The show was good.

Everyone stares in shock at Sam.

Sam: Come on, people. It's rare that I give out compliments, so you better savor this one.

Dana: Yeah... good show everybody.

Everybody starts leaving the control room.

As Jeremy is walking out the door, Natalie reaches out and grabs his arm.

Natalie: I'm ready.

Jeremy: For what?

Natalie: Let's talk.

Jeremy: Okay.

The two walk out of the control room.

Isaac: Dana, I need to speak with you when you get a chance.

Dana: Sure, Isaac. I'll be a minute. (turns toward Sam) Sam?

Sam: Yes?

Dana walks over to Sam. They are the only ones in the control room.

Dana: I've noticed a definite change in your mood lately.

Sam: You have?

Dana: Thank you.

Sam: Things have been going the way I hoped.

Dana: They have?

Sam: Yes.

Dana: That's good.

Sam: Say, would you be interested in going down and getting a drink? In a strictly professional way.

Dana: Oh... Sam. I thought you were seeing somebody.

Sam: I am, and I did say strictly professional.

Dana: Sam... uh... I would like to, I really would, but you see, I already have plans for this evening.

Sam: Really?

Dana: Yeah.

Sam: Some other time then.

Dana nods her head.

Dana: Sure... some other time.

Sam: Okay, good night.

Sam leaves the control room.

Dana: Good night.

Natalie and Jeremy are in the conference room. Jeremy is seated and Natalie is pacing.

Natalie: I'm over it.

Jeremy: You're over it?

Natalie: Yes.

Chris, Dave, Elliott, Kim, and Will all walk into the room. They are acting very casual and care-free. Chris is carrying a deck of cards and Will is carrying poker chips.

Chris: Oh, I didn't know you guys were here. Care to join us?

Jeremy: Maybe later.

Natalie: Yeah, maybe later.

Kim: Well, Sally and her crew will need the room in an hour, so you better not wait out too long.

Elliott whispers something into Will's ear.

Will: Or we can come back later- when you are finished.

Chris: Hey, I thought... oh.

The crew starts to backtrack.

Dave: We'll play somewhere else.

Jeremy: Thanks.

Natalie: No, you guys can have this room.

Jeremy gets up from his chair.

Jeremy: (whispering) Natalie.

Natalie: Really, guys. You can have this room. We were just about finished.

Jeremy: (whispering) What about?

Natalie: Come with me.

Natalie exits the conference room and Jeremy follows her close behind.

The two walk through the newsroom. Dan crosses paths with them.

Dan: Hey.

Dan looks startled.

Dan: Hey guys. Would you want to play some poker with everybody else tonight?

Jeremy: No thanks.

Dan: Oh.

Dan doesn't know what to make of the situation.

Natalie: May we use your office?

Dan: Uh... what for?

Natalie: To talk.

Dan: Oh! Sure.

Natalie: Thanks.

Jeremy and Natalie start walking toward Dan and Casey's office. Dan heads toward the conference room.

Jeremy: Good. We'll have some privacy.

Dan turns around.

Dan: Oh yeah! Casey might stop in!

Natalie: Never mind!

Natalie leads Jeremy away from their office and down the corridor.

Dana and Isaac are at the end of the corridor when Natalie and Jeremy start heading their way.

Dana: Well, this is a good sign. You two back together?

Jeremy: I don't know.

Natalie: Dana, can we use your office?

Dana: Su... sure.

Isaac: You two are not using my office!

Natalie: Will we have some privacy?

Dana: I guess so. I will be leaving as soon as I finish with Isaac.

Isaac: And I don't think I want to be here any longer, either.

Natalie opens the door to Dana's office.

Natalie: (to Jeremy) After you.

Jeremy looks scared and confused as he enters Dana's office. Natalie goes in right behind him and closes the door behind her.

Dana: Well.

Isaac: We'd better go.

Dana: Yes, we should. Thank you for sharing that information with me, Isaac.

Isaac: You're welcome.

Dana: I've... I've got plans with someone.

Isaac: Go ahead. Go. Enjoy being off tomorrow and try to take it easy.

Dana: I will. Thanks again, Isaac.

Isaac and Dana start walking down the corridor to leave.

-----

Natalie and Jeremy are in Dana's office.

Natalie: Have a seat.

Jeremy sits down in a chair.

Jeremy: You said you were... over it.

Natalie: I am.

Jeremy: I'm not sure I follow you.

Natalie: I'm over it.

Jeremy: Completely?

Natalie: Over everything.

Jeremy: Everything?

Natalie: Yes.

Jeremy: You mean-

Natalie: We're through.

Jeremy: Yeah?

Natalie: Yeah.

Jeremy: Natalie, I understand if you want to vent your frustrations and disappointments toward me.

Natalie: I'm not.

Jeremy: You're not?

Natalie: Why should I? It won't change your mind?

Jeremy: Natalie.

Natalie: Why didn't you tell me that you had reservations about getting married?

Jeremy: I was afraid you'd break up with me.

Natalie: You're right.

Jeremy: All we need is time to grow and mature.

Natalie: No, we don't.

Jeremy: We don't?

Natalie: We need to go our separate ways and see other people.

Jeremy: Are you sure?

Natalie: Sweetie, listen to me. I know you've made mistakes in this relationship, and I've made my fair share of mistakes also. Maybe we need to break up and see if we really are meant for each other.

Jeremy: You're breaking up with me?

Natalie: Yes.

Jeremy: I called off the wedding?

Natalie: Yes.

Jeremy: And you're breaking up with me?

Natalie: Exactly.

Jeremy: Just for a little while?

Natalie: Maybe a little while, maybe permanently.

Jeremy: Oh. Okay.

Natalie: You can come over and get the rest of your belonging from my place.

Natalie reaches into her pocket, pulls out something, and hands it to Jeremy.

Natalie: Here's three-hundred dollars cash for throwing out your bed.

Jeremy looks at the cash.

Jeremy: I shouldn't take-

Natalie: No, take it. I threw out your bed and didn't discuss it with you.

Jeremy: Keep it.

Natalie: You sure?

Jeremy: Yes. Are we done?

Natalie: Yeah.

Casey sits at a table inside Anthony's. He is enjoying a beer and watching the television against the wall, about 20 feet away in front of him.

"Sorry, I'm late."

Casey: No problem.

Casey gets up and the two share a quick kiss. Casey helps Dana take off her coat.

Dana: I got caught up with Sam and then Isaac.

Casey: That's okay. You weren't followed were you?

Dana: No. So how was your day?

Casey: I had to lie to Dan many times today.

Dana: I saw he was really pissed at Sam.

Casey: Yeah.

Dana: How long do you think we can do this?

Casey: As long as it takes.

Dana reaches across the table and grabs Casey's hand. They both smile at a waitress comes to their table to take their order.
